New Moon Phase
Ancient Ways of the Keen Moon
Since the beginning of time, humans have witnessed the waxing and waning of the sacred lunation cycle of Earth's keen moon. This cycle is divided into quarterly parts called the phases of the moon. You can access the Ancient Ways of this cycle and implement them into your life using rituals. The following are explanations of the lunation cycle and how to implement the Cycle of the Moon with your Vision Boards, Meditations, Moon Altar tools, Moon Crystals, Incense and Affirmations for each phase of the moon. While there area 8 phases of the moon, we will concentrate on the 4 quarters. I have touched briefly on the Moon's association in Astrology, Tarot and Womanhood, There are so many aspects to the Moon. I hope this sheds a sliver of light onto the Ancient Ways of the Keen Moon so that you can implement the Moon's Lunation Cycle into your life in a ritualistic way.
First Quarter: New Moon
The first quarter of the lunation cycle of the moon begins as the New Moon. This is when the Moon and the Sun are in the same degree of the same sign, or Conjunct each other. Since the Moon rises at the same time as the sun, it is not visible. This phase is for germination, perfect for New Beginnings since the first quarter is a time for planting seeds and intentions. This part of the lunation cycle of the keen moon is for inward activity, this gives you time to go within and decide what you really want in life that favors growth. Farmers plant their fields during the Full Moon, so just like them, we plant the seeds of intention, goals and dreams into the 'Field'. This is a time to start a new routine such as getting up at a different time of day, and putting in a new Program. You can not create a new life, from the same personality that created the one you currently have. When you release the old patterns that no longer serve you, you are letting old behaviors that created habits dissipate. This is a time to go within and start a release list, then invite abundance, clarity and embody your wishes.

Setting Intentions in Groups: Power in Numbers
Give and it shall be Given to you, pressed down and shaken together and overflowing.
Thoughts can actually go into other people and things and change them. So setting intentions at the New Moon takes only 10 minutes. You don't have to be a master to set intentions, this healing capacity lives inside of you!
Since you know that others are also setting their intentions at the New Moon, there is essentially a global group of people like myself, who are setting intentions. The seeds you set at the New Moon are influenced by the 'Field', where you tap in virtually, to a psychic internet to heal parts of your lives where you are stuck.
Community is essential to health, belonging is important to us. Knowing that we are part of a global group of people setting intentions at the New Moon, lets us know that even if we are secluded, like myself, in the highest alpine desert in south-central Colorado, we are actually connected in the 'Field”, a psychic network.
Altruism: When you set intentions for someone else, to receive healing or abundance, what you find is that you will live longer, healthier lives. Anything you do to help someone else, you find healing yourself. Living a life of Service gives you a healthy blueprint for yourself and others.
Be HIGHLY specific and POSITIVE with your request to the Universe when setting Intentions. Get into a GROUP setting of at least 8 people to set intentions together. Based on expert intention setter, Lynne McTaggart's research on intentions set in a group setting, she shows that there is a unified state of oneness. You don't have to be experts to do this work, to be transported to an incredible mystical state. All you need is a group to get on a “fast track to the miraculous”. You don't have to be physically present with each other to take advantage of this intention setting, you can have a virtual group.
Meditation, Yoga and Alignment with the Lunar Rhythm
The Wheel of the Year, turns through the seasons in a natural rhythm. We are a part of this ancient magical universe. When we are in harmony with our Loving Mother, Nature, we are able to connect to the potent divine feminine energy she shares so that we cultivate a deep connection to natural laws.
When we align our routine to the cyclical season with the lunar rhythm we enter into divine alignment with the Moon and Sun. This empowers us to release anything that is no longer serving a purpose in your life, inspiring you to start something new so that you feel nurtured.
Rest, Restore and Begin Again!
Start a meditation practice. It is healing to bask in the Moonlight imbuing the ancient magical and mystical feminine properties emanating from the moon. You can add music, candles, crystals and incense to your environment to set the mood, in the name of love!
In Yoga, exhalation corresponds to apana, the energy of exhalation. Exhalation carries the stale air from your lungs away down to the feet, eliminating negative emotions to exit your body.
Moon Altar
Moon altars are sacred and magic spaces where you can get as creative as you like. There is no wrong way to create your moon altar. You can include certain magical tools to put on the altar to add focus but there are no specific directions. Get creative with each cycle of the moon. No two altars are alike.
